Jag blir lite f\u00f6rv\u00e5nad \u00f6ver deras engagemang. Orden p\u00e5 korten \u00e4r ganska sv\u00e5ra och vissa \u00e4r l\u00e5nga. \u00c4r de inte v\u00e4l utmanande f\u00f6r de h\u00e4r eleverna? t\u00e4nker jag. De har ju \u00e4nnu inte  l\u00e4rt sig alla bokst\u00e4ver och d\u00e4rf\u00f6r f\u00e5r de st\u00f6d hos mig. Men l\u00e4ngden p\u00e5 orden \u00e4r inget hinder d\u00e5 eleverna upplever dem som meningsfulla. Snart ska vi l\u00e4sa och skriva med korten till st\u00f6d som morot efter n\u00e5gra andra \u00f6vningar.  Vi skiftar mellan enklare och mer utmanade \u00f6vningar f\u00f6r att deras uppm\u00e4rksamhet ska uppr\u00e4tth\u00e5llas. Och f\u00f6r en balanserad l\u00e4s- och skrivundervisning (Tjernberg 2018). D\u00e4rf\u00f6r b\u00f6r vi jobba b\u00e5de med att ljuda och med att l\u00e4ra oss ord och begrepp. Dagens \u00f6vningar inneh\u00e5ller b\u00e5dadera:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e5 eleverna sjunger och turas om att peka p\u00e5 alfabetet k\u00e4nner de sig sj\u00e4lvst\u00e4ndiga och duktiga i starten p\u00e5 lektionen. S\u00e5ngen \u00e4r deras st\u00f6d. Den fungerar som en minnesramsa. D\u00e4refter \u00f6var vi p\u00e5 att l\u00e4sa stavelser p\u00e5 tavlan. H\u00e4r tvingas de fundera \u00f6ver de abstrakta bokst\u00e4verna utan n\u00e5got meningsb\u00e4rande till st\u00f6d. Det \u00e4r k\u00e4mpigt och lite inneh\u00e5llsl\u00f6st. De befinner sig i l\u00e4rgropen (Nottingham)  d\u00e4r de m\u00e5ste t\u00e4nka efter. Kunskap \u00e4r ett resultat av just t\u00e4nkande p\u00e5talar Daniel Willingham (2021). N\u00e4r vi n\u00f6ter stavelserna kommer eleverna ocks\u00e5 snart  att se sin utveckling d\u00e5 deras l\u00e4sflyt utvecklas fr\u00e5n dag till dag. Jag ber\u00e4ttar att n\u00e4r de tar sig igenom sv\u00e5righeten sker deras faktiska  l\u00e4rande och utveckling. Denna vetskap g\u00f6r dem mer intresserade av utmaningen. Jag ber\u00f6mmer deras \u00f6kade koncentration. Barn l\u00e4r d\u00e5 vi pekar p\u00e5 vad de g\u00f6r r\u00e4tt (Van Duijvenvoorde, Zanolie, Serge, Rombouts, Maartje, Raijmakers &amp; Crone (2008). H\u00e4r blandas ord som <strong>fladdermus<\/strong>, <strong>pumpa<\/strong>, <strong>vampyr<\/strong>, <strong>zombie<\/strong>, <strong>kyrka<\/strong> och <strong>kors<\/strong> med mera. Eleverna \u00e4r p\u00e5tagligt intresserade av orden och bilderna p\u00e5 baksidan kittlar deras fantasi. \u00c4mnet k\u00e4nns aktuellt d\u00e5 h\u00f6stm\u00f6rkret b\u00f6rjat krypa inp\u00e5 knuten. Vi f\u00e5r tillf\u00e4lle att tala om b\u00e5de meningen med Alla helgons dag, hur ett varg<strong>sp\u00e5r<\/strong> ser ut, <strong>sp\u00f6ke<\/strong>t Laban, Jesus p\u00e5 <strong>kors<\/strong>et och Michael Jackson och hans <strong>zombies<\/strong> och mycket annat. Eleverna ber\u00e4ttar om sina erfarenheter av att t\u00e4nda ljus p\u00e5 kyrkog\u00e5rden. Att n\u00e5gon \u00e4r r\u00e4dd f\u00f6r m\u00f6rkret. Jag ber\u00e4ttar att vampyrer och Dracula \u00e4r s\u00e5dant som m\u00e4nniskor hittat p\u00e5 och skrivit b\u00f6cker om.  Vi skrattar f\u00f6rv\u00e5nat n\u00e4r sp\u00f6ket Laban dyker upp. Han \u00e4r ju inte farlig och inte l\u00e4skig heller fast han \u00e4r ett sp\u00f6ke. \u00d6vningen och samtalet liknar ett boksamtal men vi utg\u00e5r fr\u00e5n kortlekens ord och bilder. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r f\u00e5r var och en av eleverna sj\u00e4lv v\u00e4lja kort. Det \u00e4r viktigt att de f\u00e5r beh\u00e5lla kontrollen och k\u00e4nner att de lyckas f\u00f6r att tv\u00e5 centrala premisser f\u00f6r lek ska vara uppfyllda (Levy 1972 i Lillemyr 2013). Att bevara k\u00e4nslan av lek \u00e4r en viktig fr\u00e5ga. Lek \u00e4r barnens motsvarighet till att  uppleva <em>flow<\/em>( Csikszentmihalyi 2016). Leken \u00e4r liksom flow en k\u00e4nsla av koncentration, tidl\u00f6shet och eufori (Klein2005). Men varje barn m\u00e5ste f\u00e5 tid att t\u00e4nka efter d\u00e5 <em>\u201dKunskap \u00e4r det som blir kvar av t\u00e4nkande\u201d<\/em> (Willingham 2021). N\u00e4r vi avkodat ordet f\u00e5r vi v\u00e4nda p\u00e5 det och se bilden. Ibland leder det till skratt. Andra g\u00e5nger till samtal och fr\u00e5gor. Barnen kan l\u00e4ra sig om religion och traditioner (Jesus, mumier) \u00f6ka sitt ordf\u00f6rr\u00e5d eller f\u00e5 kunskap om b\u00e5de popul\u00e4rkultur (Michael Jackson, zombier) och andra kulturhistoriska referenser (sp\u00f6ket Laban, Dracula). De f\u00e5r ocks\u00e5 tillf\u00e4lle att ljuda. Efter att ha l\u00e4st alla korten skriver vi orden p\u00e5 whiteboard. Eleverna \u00e4r mycket f\u00f6rtjusta i att skriva sina ord p\u00e5 tavlan. Jag t\u00e4nker att det handlar om flera komponenter. Aktualitet \u00e4r en viktig fr\u00e5ga. Liksom f\u00e4rska nyheter stimulerar oss vuxna att f\u00f6rdjupa oss kan Halloweenkorten fungera som en f\u00e4rskvara i samband med h\u00f6sten och n\u00e5got som eleverna har f\u00f6rf\u00f6rst\u00e5else f\u00f6r. F\u00f6rkunskap \u00e4r centralt f\u00f6r att stimulera till intresse f\u00f6r l\u00e4sning och skrivning. Men just de h\u00e4r korten kittlar ocks\u00e5 fantasin p\u00e5 ett s\u00e4rskilt s\u00e4tt. Ett v\u00e4lkomnande klimat \u00e4r en viktig komponent f\u00f6r att lyckas i skolan. <em>Hur<\/em> vi \u00e5terkopplar \u00e4r utslagsgivande. Inte f\u00f6r inte som Dylan Wiliam skrivit s\u00e5 utf\u00f6rligt om \u00e5terkoppling. Sj\u00e4lva essensen i det formativa handlar om att aktivera alla elever och om att deras sj\u00e4lvk\u00e4nsla ska bevaras. F\u00f6r sm\u00e5 barn \u00e4r det s\u00e4rskilt viktigt.
