H\u00e4r f\u00e5r eleverna samtidigt tillf\u00e4lle att stifta bekantskap med ett naturvetenskapligt s\u00e4tt att arbeta genom att st\u00e4lla hypotes och sedan unders\u00f6ka verkligheten. Den gemensamma processen med den hemliga burken har ocks\u00e5 en lekfull aspekt d\u00e5 eleverna uppmuntras att komma med individuella gissningar som de ska skriva ned p\u00e5 ett papper. P\u00e5 s\u00e5 vis lockas de in i flera samtal kring tal och antal och dess rimlighet med sina kamrater. Kamratkulturen \u00e4r en viktig pusselbit i och utanf\u00f6r klassrummet och elevernas l\u00e4rande p\u00e5verkas mycket av hur vi som l\u00e4rare kan f\u00e5 ig\u00e5ng positiva cirklar b\u00e5de under v\u00e5ra genomg\u00e5ngar men ocks\u00e5 under barnens gruppvisa och enskilda aktiviteter (Nuthall 2007).
